Cover Story
Passing by a newsstand, I couldn't help but notice that entertainment magazines over the past half-year have consistently chosen Barbara for their covers. It's intriguing: the craze over The Legend of the Condor Heroes may have subsided, but the editors' continued interest in her proves how much her fame has grown in recent months. Among Hong Kong's actresses, apart from Cherie Chung, only Barbara Yung is regularly invited to have her photos taken by top studios.
I’ve always felt that Barbara Yung isn’t conventionally beautiful, but she wins hearts with her charming and sweet demeanor.
Especially when she smiles, revealing those two white "rabbit teeth," her youthful grace is bound to captivate many admirers.
However, time and fame have a way of making someone shine. Now, when Barbara Yung steps forward, you’re inclined to think of her as “beautiful.” Her every gesture and movement radiates the dazzling aura of a star, as if her rise to stardom had been fast-tracked like a montage in a movie.
Just look at this set of photos; the natural allure she exudes has replaced the awkward shyness of her early days in the industry.
Now, Barbara approaches photo shoots with meticulous care, no longer making careless moves. After all, if another mishap were to occur, her company couldn’t turn a blind eye this time.
Since The Legend of the Condor Heroes, the Earth has only completed one rotation around the sun, yet Barbara Yung has undergone such a transformation.
Speaking of covers, it’s impossible not to mention those infamous "wardrobe malfunction" photos. For a newcomer just starting her career, it was like planting a ticking time bomb in a freshly built city.
Undeniably, Barbara has a unique photogenic quality. Her short stature and slender frame in real life are completely unnoticeable in photos. Even after learning painful lessons, Barbara still strikes elegant poses in front of the camera.
For us to truly appreciate Barbara Yung, perhaps it’s best to maintain a bit of distance.
