Kent Tong denies having a relationship with Barbara Yung

The entertainment industry is a breeding ground of rumors. Often, trivial matters are blown out of proportion—mosquitoes become elephants, and beetles are likened to "heavy bombers." Kent Tong is the perfect example.
Not long ago, Kent Tong broke up with Deborah Moore, the third runner-up of Miss Hong Kong. Feeling emotionally betrayed, he vented his frustration, declaring: “Love within the entertainment circle isn’t reliable. I’ve decided not to date anyone for the next two years!”
This statement wasn’t made without reason. Why did he say it? Because as soon as Deborah Moore ended things with Kent Tong , she was seen in the arms of male singer Danny Summer. To borrow a Tang Dynasty poem: “Only the new one smiles; the old one weeps unseen.” It’s no wonder Kent Tong was so bitter.
However, not long after, rumors began circulating that Kent Tong was dating Yammie Lam. When asked, Tong blushed with anger and loudly denied it: “Ridiculous, ridiculous! There’s no such thing!”
But before the rumors subsided, another one surfaced: Kent Tong was said to be in a new relationship with Barbara Yung, who had recently been cast as Huang Rong in The Legend of the Condor Heroes.
If this were true, it wouldn’t be surprising. Kent Tong is handsome and dashing, while Barbara Yung is petite and charming. Standing together, they make a great match. The entertainment industry, much like the film world, has a liberal atmosphere regarding relationships. If the two were mutually attracted, it would be completely natural.
The only minor drawback is that Barbara Yung is slightly older than Tong Zhenye. However, for modern couples, this is not an issue at all. Moreover, Kent Tong and Barbara Yung had recently been working together on director Siu Sang's Qing Dynasty drama Thirteen Sisters. With frequent interaction on set, it’s only natural for feelings to develop.
However, when reporters approached Kent Tong for confirmation about the rumors, he complained: “Why do you like making up stories about me so much? Up until now, my monthly salary is only a few thousand dollars. My house and car are being paid for in installments. Part of my income goes to paying for the house, and another part for the car. Where would I find the money to date girls or have a relationship?”
The reporters pressed on, asked:
“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Why aren’t there rumors about Barbara Yung dating other artists? Why is it always your name linked to hers?”
In a fit of pique, Kent Tong responded: “If you insist on tying my name to Barbara Yung, then let me make it clear, it’s her chasing me, not the other way around! Goodbye!”Tong clearly didn’t want to be drawn into a pointless argument with the reporters. After saying this in frustration, he stormed off. Of course, out of courtesy, none of the reporters went to Barbara Yung to verify whether she was pursuing Tong Zhenye.
Barbara Yung, however, is known for her Westernized and bold personality. This could be attributed to her time studying abroad in England, which likely influenced her demeanor.
For instance, when Barbara Yung was announced as the actress to play Huang Rong in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, she was so overjoyed that she leaned into producer Wong Tin-lam’s arms like a little bird seeking comfort. She even playfully pinched the cheek of production executive Tong Wai-hung. Because of such actions, reporters jokingly nicknamed her “Ong Tofu.”In Shanghainese slang, “eating tofu” refers to men taking advantage of women.
Some say Kent Tong, being self-aware, refuses to “eat Ong’s tofu.” Whether this is true or not remains unknown!

汤镇业不吃「翁豆腐」

电视圈是一个流言鼎盛的圈子,很多时候,一 丁点儿微不足道的事情,到了某些人的咀里,蚊子 也会变成大象,甲虫更会给形容成「重轰炸机」的
汤镇业就是最好的例子。
不久之前,汤镇业跟港姐季军狄宝娜摩亜分手 *小汤感觉自己感情受了欺骗,他会経气忿的说道:「圈中人爱情不保险,我决定在两年之内,不 谈恋爱!」
汤镇业这话是 有因而発的,这话 从何说起呢?
因为狄宝娜摩 亜才一跟汤镇业分 闲,便投入男歌手贾思乐的怀抱,套用唐诗说的两 句,就是「只见新人笑,那闻旧人哭」,难怪小汤 如此恨恨不已。
但是过了不久,汤镇业被传出跟戚美珍拍拖的 消息,小汤给人问起的时候,气得涨红了脸,高声
大叫: 「荒唐荒唐,那有此事
可是,话犹未了,又再传出汤镇业有了新的恋 爱对象,就是最近在「射雕英雄传」当选黄蓉的翁
本来嘛,这一点如果是事实,并不希奇,因为 汤镇业英俊潇洒,翁美玲娇小玲珑,大家站在一起 ,也很登対。电视圈跟电影圈一模一样,男女风气 十分开放,他两人互相爱悦,也是十分自然的事。
稍为觉得美中不足的,就是翁美玲的年纪,比 汤镇业大了一步。但是在新潮男女的眼里,这一点 也不是问题呢!
更何况,汤镇业和翁美玲,最近同在一起,拍 摄监禁萧笙导演的清装电视片「十三妹」,在工 作上接触多了,男女双方便生情愫,更是理所当然 啦。
可是,当记者就以上消息,向小汤求证时,汤 镇业又大発牢骚,说道:
「你们怎么这样喜欢给我杜撰故事,我到此刻
为止,在云线拿的月薪,只有几千块钱。我的楼房 和汽车都是用分期付款方式买的,一方面我蚤供楼 ,另一方面供车,那里来的金钱结交女孩子,拍拖 恋? 」
可是,记者的咀头却不饶人,问道: 「空穴来风,未必去因!怎的没有人传说翁美 玲跟别的艺员恋爱,却把你的名字,跟翁美玲拉在 一起?」
汤镇业赌气的回答道:
「你们如果硬姿把我的名字,跟翁美玲拉在一 起,那么,也是她追求我,不是我追她!再见!」
小汤似乎不高兴跟记者瞎目纠缠,说了这几句 负气话,忿然离去。
当然,因了礼没见,没有一个记者向翁美玲求 证,问她是不是追求汤镇业的呢!
不过,翁美玲的作风,十分洋化,而且闲放大 胆。这也许跟她会 経在加拿大试书 学，黛玉关系。
例如,当「笑 线」宣布翁美玲当
选「黄蓉」一角的时候,翁美玲高兴得自动倚在监 制王天林怀抱内,有如小鸟依人,又用手轻熬制作 部大员邓伟洪的面颊,因此,记者喊她做「翁豆腐 」。吃豆腐是上海俗语,给男人占便宜之谓也。
有人说汤镇业有自知之明,不肯吃「翁豆腐」 ,是真是假,便不得而知了啦!
