When asked, "Aren’t you afraid Jaime Chik (Michael Miu’s girlfriend) will get jealous? Praising her boyfriend so openly, isn’t there a risk of stepping into her territory?" Yung laughed, “I’m not worried at all. The other day when I saw Jaime, she generously joked with me, ‘If you like him too, I don’t mind—Miu can be shared.’ Although she was joking, I believe she wouldn’t get jealous.” Yung’s sweet smile, both on and off the screen, remained captivating. Absent from a Prestigious Event
Asked if she felt overlooked for not being part of the "All-Star Charity Gala," a high-profile event for top artists, she replied, “Neither I nor Tong (Kent Tong) think it’s a big deal. We don’t see it as sour grapes. I’m busy with other projects, and it’s a relief to skip rehearsals. However, the company has informed me that I’ll perform at the TV anniversary celebration, so I’ll still have a part to play.”
The “Five Beauties” and Rivalry
Regarding the company’s efforts to promote the “Five Beauties” (a group of rising female stars, including her), Yung was asked if she felt pressured. “The company arranges the work, and I follow instructions. You know me—I’m a very cooperative artist. If others compare us, that’s their business. My focus is on doing my job well, and I don’t feel any pressure,” she replied. However, her determined gaze hinted at her competitive spirit and confidence in herself.
Maggie Cheung, another member of the “Five Beauties,” is currently seen as the standout star, gracing magazine covers alongside Yung. When asked about Maggie’s period costume style, Yung graciously responded, “It’s lovely! Maggie has a classical beauty in period costumes. Compared to her modern look, it’s a different kind of charm.”
Struggles with Tall Co-Stars
After finishing The new adventures of Chor Lau-heung, Yung is set to star in a 40-episode modern drama alongside Tony Leung, playing a couple. “I’m very interested in modern dramas. Some people say I’m ‘better in period dramas than modern ones,’ and I find that funny. I’m a modern woman! If I can do period dramas well, why can’t I handle modern ones? I don’t believe those comments, and I hope to prove myself in this new series.”
When teased about the possibility of new romance rumors with Tony Leung, she laughed, “Honestly, I think Tony and I will look more compatible on screen than Miu and I. At least with Tony, I won’t have to strain my neck to match his height!”
Reflecting on her past experiences working with taller co-stars like Michael Miu and Ray Lui, she joked, “During The new adventures of Chor Lau-heung, I had to keep tilting my head up to look at them. By the end of filming, I felt like I was turning into a giraffe!”
