She portrays the charmingly well-behaved Dao Yun who becomes the constant target of the opportunist Dong Peng Fei (Mi Kiu Wai) plus excellently presents her counterpart the snobby tom-boyish Pei Ying who desperately seeks to win the heart of the dandy Zi Long (Michael Tao).

二十世紀初的香港，海盜為患，其中以汪洋大盜譚照保（秦煌）勢力最大。保常截劫商船，因此與洋買辦何樂庭（劉兆銘）結怨。當時官場黑暗，唯有捕頭雷振江（馮淬帆）及其子子龍（陶大宇）正直忠厚，盡忠職守。
龍好友董鵬飛（苗僑偉）是一名典型機會主義者，千方百計攀附保，以求從中取利。另方面，飛為博取庭賞識，處處表現自己，又百般討好其獨生女道蘊（翁美玲）。
城寨寨主林二嫂（李香琴）之女佩英（翁美玲分飾）暗戀龍多年，但龍不喜其粗豪作風，對她若即若離。直至龍邂逅蘊，驚為天人，隨即展開追求，對英更加冷 淡。機緣巧合下，蘊與英相遇，赫然發現雙方容貌一模一樣，追查後始知兩人為孖生姊妹。惟當英發現蘊乃其情敵，頓起反感，一段錯綜複雜、詼諧惹笑的四角戀情 由此展開……
