Isabella Kau Hung Ping, comes from a family of five, has two younger brothers who grew up in public housing . In 1982, Isabella Kau Hung Ping ran for Miss Hong Kong. She was an amateur model when she entered the competition. After winning the prize, she signed a contract to join TVB. After several years of development, she quit the entertainment industry.
Isabella Kau Hung Ping went through two marriages. In 1987, she married Tang Jihua, the son of Tang Quan, the "machine king of the 1970s". They had two daughters. In 1992, they formally divorced. Two years later, she met Liang Tingqiang and registered for marriage in the UK on September 22, 2003.
